Parker Moorman is a 2008 SS/P/2B with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City HS. He has a lean, wiry frame and some strength projection. Moorman is a very good athlete who is light on his feet, fast (6.95 in the 60) and has some tools. His baseball skills are very raw at this point, especially on defense. Moorman has some arm strength but has long, piece by piece actions at this point. He might profile better in the outfield as the game speeds up. Offensively, Moorman hits out of a spread stance with low hands to start his swing and a limited trigger. He has some raw bat speed and the ball comes off his well on contact. He tends to get the bat started slowly. His best contact is up the middle. Moorman has the physical ability to keep improving with some instruction and more experience. He is a very good student off the field.

Parker Moorman is a 2008 SS/2B/RHP with a 6'1'', 160 lb. frame from Mason City IA, who attends Mason City HS. He has a slender frame with young features and minimal present strength. Moorman ran the 60 in 7.15 and threw 77 mph during infield drills. He showed nice lower body actions and balance at shortstop and good range, especially up the middle. His tends to field the ball a bit deep right now, which leaves his hands stiff. One thing we noticed was that Moorman is a hard nosed and determined fielder. He had a couple of rockets hit at him and he showed no signs of bailing or backing down. Offensively, Moorman has a short, line drive swing and uses his hands well to hit. He doesn't have the raw physical strength to drive the ball consistently right now but has the hand/eye coordination and swing path to keep improving as his strength improves. Overall Moorman had a strong showcase and performed well, always a good sign for future improvement. He is also a good student.
