Justin Couvillion is a 2008 2B/UT with a 5'10'', 180 lb. frame from Greenwell Springs, LA, who attends Central Private HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event. Couvillion has an athletic frame with present strength. Defensively he moves well laterally making all the plays with good hands and solid footwork. During game action he showed plus range and showed great body control on slow rollers. He made all the plays and made the look easy. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a wide base with a no stride approach. Couvillion has a line drive swing plane with very good bat speed and is short and compact to the ball. He stays balanced through his swing and uses the whole field with gap power. He is a patient hitter with a good eye. Couvillion hustles and plays the game hard, and has good speed in the sixty as well as game speed. He is a must follow who has a solid all-around game.
