2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Chris Squires is a 2006 RHP/OF/IF from Canterbury HS in Ft. Wayne, IN, with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame. He has a lean athletic build and projectable strength. Squires showed very good arm strength from a drop and drive delivery. His arm is quick and smooth and he maintains good plane on a fastball that reached 84 mph. Squires change up was his best secondary pitch, with heavy sink and fading action and nice arm speed. He also threw a 71 mph curveball with a slurve type of break. Squires showed his overall athletic ability at the showcase as well. He has a slashing type swing and good raw bat speed. He's a good runner and projects well in the outfield as well as on the mound. Squires has a very good upside and should continue to improve on both sides of the ball. He is a very good student off the field.
