Corey Hoggard is a 2007 LHP/SS/RHP from Bertie HS in Windsor, NC, with a 5'10", 145 lb. frame. Corey has a lean build with a good amount of room to fill out. On the mound Corey throws from a OH arm slot with a good amount of effort. Corey keeps the ball down in the zone and makes hitters put the ball in play. When he puts on some weight he should throw quite a bit harder. At the plate he has a tendency to pull of the ball, causing him to lose some pop. If he can learn to stay on the pitch better he should be able to hit the drive the ball much harder consistently. In the field Corey shows a good set of hands and clean actions with a good exchange, but can get in trouble with his footwork Corey is a small college recruit at this point and maintains good marks in the classroom.
