Chris Parmelee is a 2006 first baseman/left handed pitcher with a very solid muscular build at 6-1, 195 lbs. He has established himself as one of the top yong power hitters in the country all summer and did nothing at the National Showcase to hurt that assessment. Aside from being super strong, Parmalee does a very good job of keeping his weight back and exploding through the ball. He hits from a spread stance with a reverse toe tap trigger and really gets loaded well. He has plus, plus bat speed and takes a full, aggressive swing. The ball explodes off his bat. Parmalee has the ability to hit the ball out of the park to all fields with wood and is proficient at hitting the opposite way. He hit one ball off the 390' sign in left centerfield at Turner Field that proved that. Parmalee physical tools aside from his hitting ability are also impressive. He's a 7.11 runner who threw 86 mph during infield drills at first base. He's a smooth fielder around the back with a good glove and good footwork. Parmalee also has extensive experience pitching and threw 86 mph from the left side in Atlanta and has pitched in the upper 80's in the past. Although he's a very good defensive first baseman, there is no reason that he can't be an equally good outfielder with his tools. Parmalee is a good student who has signed with Cal State Fullerton but should get very high draft looks from professional baseball.

Chris Parmelee is a 2006 first baseman/left handed pitcher from Chino Hills California with a solid body that shows lots of strength at 6 ft. 1 200 pounds. He hits from a wide base with good timing and rhythm on his weight transfer. He has strong hands and he generates serious bat speed. He has great contact ability as well and the ball explodes off the bat. He stays inside the ball and shows big time power to all fields. He has upper deck potential. Defensively, Parmelee has good soft hands and a very solid glove. He has good feet and moves well aroud the bag showing lots of agility for his size. He has a strong arm at 83 mph across the infield with good accuracy and carry. He is a highest level prospect with good high draft potential in 2006. Chris is also a very good LHP who throws mid to upper 80s.
