Tyler Korn is a 2008 RHP/IF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Encinitas CA, who attends La Costa Canyon HS. Korn has a lithe, lean body type that is still physically maturing. Expect him to gain more muscle and explosiveness in the coming years. He was listed as a primary pitcher but did not take the mound during the showcase. As an offensive player, Korn showed some ability, particularly with the bat. His hands work well and he maintained good balance during his swing. He allows the ball to travel and get deep in zone, trusting his hands and showing a willingness to hit the ball the up the middle and to the right side. If he were to work strictly on developing as a position player, he has a chance to develop into a solid line drive hitter and a capable two-hole type hitter. Korn is a good student. We hope to see him on the mound in future events.
