Tony Zych is a 2008 2B/P with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Monee, IL who attends St. Rita HS. He has a young, slender build with some length to his arms and legs. Zych has tools all over the place and is a top 2-way prospect. He's a primary second baseman but there is no reason at all he isn't a shortstop, it must be something to conserve his arm for pitching. Zych is a 6.53 runner with 90 mph arm strength in the infield and is a quick twitch athlete with actions. He does use some effort in his infield actions but the tools are there with some smoothing out. Offensively, Zych has a quiet, simple swing approach and is looking to make line drive contact. He showed the ability to make hand adjustments to different pitches and he works through the ball well. More strength is going to help him with the bat but he has a good idea how to hit within his tools/strength right now. On the mound, Zych has a quick, short arm action and a low 3/4's release point from a drop and drive delivery. He hides the ball well with some deception and his 88-91 mph fastball must look even quicker to hitters. His breaking ball is a big, sweeping 72 mph curveball and he is working on a change up. Zych could go either way in his development and the college coaches must be very excited in the recruiting process. Zych is an excellent student as well.

Tony Zych is a 2008 MIF/P with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Monee IL, who attends St. Rita HS. He has a long and slender frame that is loose and athletic, with tons of projection. Zych is a primary middle infielder but he looked like a top line pitching prospect in this look. He throws from a drop and drive delivery with a compact mid 3/4's release point and very good arm speed. Zych has some effort in his release but the ball jumps out of his hand. He topped out at 91 mph on his fastball with some flat running action. Zych tends to hook his curveball in back, which leads to an inconsistent release point, but he puts hard spin on the ball when he releases it out front. His change up is a nice pitch with good mechanics and a consistent release. Offensively, Zych is an aggressive hitter with a balanced approach and a line drive swing plane. He has a nice looking swing with good bat speed and the ability to handle the bat head. Zych will be a national level follow on both sides of the ball and one of the better two-way prospects in the country. He is an excellent student who has committed to Louisville.
