Chris Dominguez is a 2005 third baseman/outfielder from Miami Florida with a strong live body at 6 ft. 5 220 pounds. He has excellent rhythm with a powerful stroke. He had one of the best rounds of BP that you'll see all year. He has major league bat speed and strength and the ball rockets off the bat. He hit a couple of line drive home runs that went 400+ feet. Defensively, he has good hands with solid actions and a quick release. He showed MLB arm strength across the infield at 91 mph with excellent accuracy. He has a very athletic big body and looks like a major leaguer. He ran a 7.05 in the 60. He also got on the mound and threw 86 mph with an easy delivery. He has awesome power and he has the highest level draft potential. Chris is a good student who has signed with Louisville.

Chris Dominguez is a big strong 6'4/210 plus MLB bodied 3B from Miami, FL. Dominguez sprained his ankle less than a week before the National but was still able to show his plus MLB tools despite using crutches when off the field. He made the left field fence look short in batting practice and showed plus plus arm strength and hands during infield. Dominguez is a lesson to players who are afraid to play when they don’t feel perfect; he was on crutches, proved his desire and raised his stock. He has little guy type outstanding MLB actions at 3B. He has upper deck power and if he shows scouts the ability to make consistent contact, he will be a very early pick next June. He is an excellent student. Chris was selected to the AFLAC All American team.

Dominguez showed off his extreme athleticism for a 6-5, 220 man of a 16 year old. He threw 90 mph with little effort across the infield and ran a sub-7.00 60. Dominguez has deceptively quick and balanced feet in the field which, when combined with his above average arm strength, makes him a top notch defensive third baseman. Dominiguez took a good batting practice, showing good bat speed and a nice balanced approach and load. A little more extension in Dominguez’s swing would result in more consistent power production. We’d hoped to get Dominguez up on the mound for an inning to see what he’d throw, but that didn’t happen. Chris is a very good student and an even better player. He looks like a Big League 3rd baseman and fields like one. The bat will determine his first round status for the "05" draft.

Chris Dominguez -- Dominguez is one of the best known junior prospects in the country and with good reason. He’s extra large at 6-5, 220 lbs but has the actions and quickness of a much smaller athlete. We’ve seen Dominguez play frequently over the past couple years and he swung the bat as well as we’ve ever seen him. He has a quiet, calm approach at the plate and generates very impressive bat speed and loft power potential. As one of our scouts said in his notes -everyone stops what they’re doing when Dominguez comes up to hit. Defensively, Dominguez is an excellent third baseman, with one of the best throwing arms in the country and very soft, flexible hands. Despite his size, range is not going to be a problem, either. Dominguez plays hard at all times on the field. Probably the best comparison for Dominguez at the same age would be Troy Glaus. One thing that Glaus did as a high school player was throw in the low to mid 90’s from the mound and we’d like to get Dominguez on the hill sometime to see if he could do that as well. Chris is a MLB 3rd baseman defensively, it will all come down to how his bat develops. He is also a very good student.

Chris is one of the top 05 prospects in the country . He already has a MLB body with a plus plus arm, 92 across the infield! He makes all the plays and has great body control and athletism for his size. He could become a big time power guy in pro ball. We would like to see him on the mound as well, but he's too good a player to think about him as a pitcher.

One of the very top "05's" in America. Spectacular fielding 3B with shortstop actions. Great body control and a plus plus arm. He has a nice swing and will hit with power. It's almost too bad he has to spend three more years in High School. Big time prospect!
