Kevin Hsieh is a 2007 LHP/OF with a 5'9'', 130 lb. frame from Laguna Niguel, CA, who attends Dana Hills HS. Hsieh has a lean frame with projection. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm action on the backside. His arm works well and he throws with low effort. Hsieh has a straight up finish with balanced over the rubber and stays inline to the plate. Showed good control of both his pitches. His fastball topped out at 68 mph while he worked in the 64-68 mph range. Hsieh also mixed in a 1 to 7 curveball at 58 mph with good depth, and it has the makings of being a good pitch for him. At the plate he is a switch hitter who hits from an upright stance, and takes a short stride. Hsieh stays balanced through his swing and has a contact approach. Defensively he has solid arm speed on his throws from the outfield with accuracy. Hsieh is also an outstanding student.
