He hits from a slightly open stance and is an aggressive hitter. Miller has lift in his swing and uses the whole field to hit. He makes consistent contact at the plate. Alex gets out on his front foot at times and his hands will drop. He has a quick release behind the plate with a solid 2.06 pop time. Miller has an accurate arm and solid receiving skills. Alex Miller is a 2008 C/RHP/MIF/OF that attends St Stephens/St Agnes HS and resides in Fairfax Station, VA with a 5'10", 165 lb. frame. Alex has an athletic build and really plays the game the way it should be played. During the games Alex drove several line-drives in to the gaps. Mechanicaly Alex has a little work to as he is very stiff in his approach. He locks his shoulders up at the plate and really just needs to relax and modify his approach to hitting. Behind the plate Alex really commands the game well. He has good raw arm strength but needs to smoothen up his transfer and release. In the field Alex has OK hands and looks the best at second base. His range could also allow him to play the corner outfield positions. On the mound Alex throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with good run on his fastball. Alex will make hitters put the ball in play and is very efficient with his pitches. Alex is a good student that could attract the attention of some smaller colleges.

Alex Miller is a 2008 C/RHP/UT/OF that attends St Stephens/St Agnes HS and resides in Fairfax Station, VA with a 5'10", 165 lb. frame. Alex has an athletic build and is a player that really plays hard and will help a team in any way. Right now Alex's game is a step ahead in the field rather than the plate. At the plate Alex is a little jumpy in the box and will need to work on leveling his swing plane and his weight transfer. In the outfield Alex has quick actions with good range. He really goes hard after the ball in the field and also shows his good range with solid raw arm strength. Behind the plate Alex has very good arm strength but needs to shorten up his release some. Alex has really improved over the last few months on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good life on his fastball. Alex is efficient with his pitches and shows the making of a good straight change and knuckle ball. Alex has solid potential in the field and will be a player that many smaller colleges take notice of.

Alex Miller is a 2008 C/RHP/UT from St Stephens/St Agnes HS in Fairfax Station, VA with a 5'9", 150 lb. frame. Alex has a lean athletic build and played harder than any kid at the showcase. His game is a level ahead defensively than it is offensively at this point. At the plate Alex has a rotational swing that causes him to cut under some balls and lose bat speed. When he gets his weight on the back side better and keeps his hips closed he will alot of improvement at the plate. Behind the plate Alex is a very active catcher with solid arm strength. He has somewhat of a long arm circle that slows his pop times down some, but they are still strong at 2.09. In the field Alex is similar to behind the plate in that he really goes after the ball. His release can once again hold him back a little, but he makes up for it with his live actions in the field. Alex was very efficient on the mound and retired many hitters in short order. He showed a solid 11 to 5 CB and was very efficient with pitches. While his game has some adjustments to be made Alex showed the natural athletic ability and work ethic to become a solid small college player.
