Cole Hudson is a 2008 3B/OF with a 6'5'', 185 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Bradenton Christian HS. He has a long and tall build more commonly found on a pitching prospect and developing strength. Hudson has a calm, balanced approach at the plate and gets to his front side early in his swing. His hands take a short path to the ball and he generates good leverage at contact with some bat speed. Hudson has a good swing for a taller player and more strength is going to start equalling some serious power in the future. Defensively, Hudson had a smooth arm action and the ball left his hand easily, although his throws lacked present velocity and carry. It could be a projectable area for him. The concern on defense will be Hudson's feet; he has trouble with his first step and lateral quickness at third base and could end up at first base or left field in the future. The thing to watch is his bat and strength.

Cole Hudson is a 2008 C/OF with a 6'5'', 180 lb. frame from Sarasota FL, who attends Bradenton Christian HS. He has a very tall and lean frame of the type not usually found on a catcher. Hudson threw 65 mph during drills behind the plate with a best pop time of 2.18. He has a jump turn after receiving the ball that slows down his release. Hudson received the ball well during games and had good game actions behind the plate. He also played some outfield and is a 7.68 runner. Offensively, Hudson does a good job staying short to the ball for a tall player and gets some lift and extension out front. He tends to lean back during his swing, which costs him bat speed, but does a good job overall keeping his long body balanced and in position to hit. More strength will help unlock more of his hitting potential.
