Taylor Edwards is a 2009 OF/3B with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Sparkman HS. He has a slender build with some developing strength. Edwards is a good runner and ran 6.89 in the 60. He has clean actions in the outfield and some arm strength. Edwards has very good hitting mechanics and surprising strength in his lean frame. He gets extra drive in his swing from his hips and that lets his hands be quick and come through cleanly. Edwards has good bat speed and takes an aggressive, balanced swing at the ball. He showed gap power and some lift in his swing. His gap power and running speed are a good offensive combination. Edwards has nice hitting tools that should keep developing. He is a good student.
