2006 Sunshine West Showcase
Miles Silverstein is a 2007 MIF with a 5'11'', 150 lb. frame from Bell Canyon, CA, who attends Calabasas High School. Defensively he has nice footwork in the middle of the diamond with good actions and soft hands. Silverstein has an accurate arm with solid arm strength and can make the play deep in the hole at shortstop. He made some very good plays during the showcase games showing body control and the ability to make the play on slow rollers. At the pate he is a right handed hitter with a straight away stance. Silverstein holds his hands close to his body, but he loads them well and has good bat speed through the hitting zone. He attacks the ball in the zone with a good weight transfer and a line drive swing plane. Silverstein uses the whole field and stays on breaking balls well. He is a heady player with very good defensive skills. He is also a very good student.
