Chad Simone is a 5'11" left handed pitcher from Toronto, Canada, who looks like he’s mastered the art of being a crafty lefty. He allowed a couple of hits in three innings of work at the showcase, but struck out 8 hitters and induced some pretty weak hacks when he put the ball where he wanted. Simone’s fastball was in the 77-79 mph range and he had real nice fading movement to right handed hitters. His 69-70 mph change up had similar action and was a good pitch for him. Simone’s curveball was 65-66 mph with a sweeping 2/8 break. Simone’s delivery has some deception with some herky/jerky action that throws the hitter’s timing off. He can give a college program a good finesse lefty.
