Austin Marshall is a 2010 1B/OF with a 5'8'', 195 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA, who attends Carlsbad HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team as one of the top underclass players in attendance. Marshall has strength in his body. Showed very good speed in the sixty (6.99) and on the field as well. Defensively he has nice footwork around the first base bag, and he stays down on the ball well. At the plate he hits from the right side, and he is a very good hitter for his age. Marshall hits from an average base with a high back elbow. He shows bat speed through the hitting zone with a quick and short stroke. He makes consistently solid contact to all fields. Marshall tracks pitches very well for a young hitter, and he stays balanced through his swing. He gets out of the box well and plays hard. 2010 prospect with good upside, and he is a good student as well.
