Casey Schwartz is a 2008 catcher with a 6'0'', 150 lb. frame from Bourbonnais, IL, who attends Bradley-Bourbonnais High School. He has a lean frame with good projectability. Defensively he has quick feet behind the plate blocking balls in the dirt and on his throws. Schwartz has a nice transfer with quickness in his release. Also showed soft hands handling pitchers. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from the right side using a medium base with a short stride. Schwartz stays balanced through his swing showing solid bat speed. He swings down on the ball and puts the ball in play on the ground. His contact approach will allow him to move runners along and put pressure on a defense. During game action he showed instincts on the bases with the ability to steal bases.

Casey Schwartz is a 2008 C with a 6'0'', 150 lb. frame from Bourbonnais, IL, who attends Bradley-Bourbonnais HS. Schwartz has a lean frame with projection. Defensively he has solid arm action from behind the plate. His throws were online to second base with accuracy. Schwartz is quick to second base and produced solid pop times in the workout and games. He caught several runners attempting to steal during the showcase games, and his best game pop time was 2.06. At the plate he hits from the right side with a straight away and upright stance. He battles during every at bat, and never gets cheated. Schwartz has a line drive swing plane and keeps his head down well. He stays in on breaking pitches and looks to go with the pitch. The ball jumps off his bat when he centers the ball. Schwartz uses a short stride and stays balanced throughout his swing.
