Ryan Tatnell is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 5'10'', 145 lb. frame from Putnam Valley NY, who attends Kennedy Catholic. Tatnell has a smaller frame with a thin lean build. Tatnell pitches from an over the top arm slot with a medium length arm action. He has some wrap in back and some tension in his arm when he throws. He uses a sidestep wind up and recoils some at finish. Tatnell's fastball is on a downward plane and he gets some sink. He throws a big breaking curveball that gets 12/6 break. Tatnell has very good command of those pitches and throws lots of strikes. At the plate, Tatnell starts with a slightly closed stance and gets a deep load. He is a contact type hitter and uses a no stride approach. He has a rotational swing and looks to hit the ball to right field. Defensively, Tatnell showed good range in right field and makes good accurate throws. Tatnell is a very good student.
