Tom Zollo is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 5'11'', 183 lb. frame from Tarrytown NY, who attends Regis HS. He has a medium frame and could get stronger with work. Zollo throws from a low effort delivery with sound pitching mechanics and good overall balance. He's an off speed pitcher who works his 76-78 mph fastball off his curveball and change up, which are his two best pitches. Zollo gets hard downer bite on his 66 mph curveball from a high 3/4's release point. He gets very good fading action on his 67 mph change up and gets lots of right hand hitters to chase it out of the strike zone. He commands all his pitches well and knows how to pitch. Zollo also showed prospect tools as a hitter. He has very quick hands at the plate and drives through the ball well. Zollo showed some power and has more to come with more strength. He has bat head skills and knows how to hit, just as he knows how to pitch. Zollo's raw tools aren't going to wow you but he really knows how to play and perform. He is an outstanding student and could excel on the baseball field at the right program.
