Blue is a left-hander who showed us 3 quality pitches and command of all three in Waco. He stands 6 feet 1 and has 165 pounds of lean body mass that will fill out and further develop over time. He is athletic and can contribute at the next level with the bat, but his arm and pitchability are at the top of the charts for left-handers. He showed a lively fastball between 85-88 mph that spent much of its time cruising at 86-87mph. He located the ball very well and pitched ahead the entire outing. His curveball sat between 71-73 mph with a good bite and outstanding command. He also flashed a good 76 mph change-up that was untouched coming from the same fast arm he threw his fastballs with. Good mechanics, good ceiling and command of his stuff earns him a top 10 ranking from the South Top prospect showcase. C.J. could still step up the velocity a notch and become a high draft pick next June. He can pitch for any college in America.

Blue is an 04 lefty who has thrown much better than what we saw in Houston. He was still very good, nice smooth arm action and mechanics. Extreme pitchability. Also a very good hitter who hit several line shots. Excellent highest level prospect who needs to be followed extra close.
