Nugent is a 2006 C from Binghamton, NY with a solid 6'2"/185 pound body. At the plate, he hits from a quiet stance as a left handed hitter with serious bat speed, and big time power potential. He has strong hands and good bat control. Behind the plate, he showed good arm strength with a 1.97 pop time at 76 mph. He moves well behind the plate with nice feet and good blocking skills. He has a good feel for the position and he works great with his pitchers. He has a great catchers body and he will be a high level prospect in 2006. Bryce is an excellent student.

Bryce Nugent is a very projectable 6'2", 2006 left handed hitting catcher from Binghamton, New York. We really liked his approach and swing at the plate and think that Nugent could develop into a top level hitting prospect. He hits out of a crouch with a calm coil and load and has a smooth swing that stays on the plane of the ball about as long as you can. Nugent has good present hand strength and should keep getting stronger and continue to develop his power. He lined a number of hard hits in the Showcase games. Defensively, Nugent had solid tools overall and made some good game throws. Nugent also threw an inning in Fort Myers, pitching at 77-78 mph with a 67 mph curveball. Keep a close eye on this young player, he could develop into a premium prospect.

Bryce is an "06" catcher/1B from NY. At 6'2/187 he has a very good athletic strong body that will get even stronger. He has nice loose actions behind the plate and a good strong arm. At the plate he gets good torque out of a good pro type setup. He has a quick bat and very strong hands. Right now he is more contact oriented in his approach, but there is some big time power potential in this young guy. He could easily end up being a top level prospect and draft pick down the road. Bryce is a very good student as well.
