2005 Sunshine West Showcase
Bryan Leung is a 2006 MIF/OF from Harvard Westlake HS in Culver City, CA, with a 6'1", 170 lb. frame. Leung showed average fielding tools during the workout, but he was much better in the showcase games. Even though he is listed as a MIF, he made some great plays at third base and made them look easy. He showed soft hands and good footwork with solid range. Offensively he hits from a crouched stance with a toe tap trigger. Leung has a nice line drive swing path with plus bat speed. There are some extra moving parts in his swing before contact, but he stays balanced and the hitting tools are there. Leung also has good knowledge of the strike zone and doesn't chase bad pitches, and showed good recognition on off-speed pitches. Leung is a good player with a solid set of tools that should be followed.
