Austin Moore is a 2008 OF from San Juan HS, residing in North Highlands, CA, with a 5'9" 170 lb. frame. Moore has a stocky and compact build with some present day strength. A right handed hitter, Moore hits from a square stance and displayed decent balance druing his swing. He worked to get behind the ball at contact and generally showed himself to be a pull hitter. Moore loaded his hands aggressively, resulting in some swing length. On defense he showed to be an accurate thrower with a peg type arm action that is good for 3rd base or for getting rid of the ball quickly from the middle infield positions. Moore showed some arm strength and by making lower arc throws, his throwing ability will be graded higher. He is a conservative defender and does not overcommit to the ball. He should be followed as a small college prospect.
