Bobby Borchering is a 2009 3B/IF/P with a 6'4'', 194 lb. frame from Alva, FL who attends Bishop Verot. Bobby has a strong, physical build, but is also very athletic. He ran a 6.99 sixty and showed good arm strength across the diamond. Borchering is a switch hitter who has easy power from both sides. He shows good bat speed, makes plus barrel contact and the ball flies off his bat in a hurry to all fields. He has big potential with the bat. Bobby also shows ability on the mound with a heavy upper 80's fastball. He has committed to the Florida Gators and will be a strong follow for the 2009 draft.

Bobby Borchering is a 2009 3B/P/1B with a 6'4'', 187 lb. frame from Alva, FL who attends Bishp Verot HS. Tall, angular athletic build. Switch-hitter, very aggressive power swing, excellent raw bat speed, effort but squares up on everything, better bat speed LH'd but legit both ways, potential impact hitter. Quick twitch athlete, runs well, agile 3B defensively, lots of arm strength. Potential high draft. Good student. He was named to the top prospect team at this event.

Bobby Borchering is a 2009 3B/P with a 6'4'', 185 lb. frame from Alva FL, who attends Bishp Verot HS. He has a plus athletic frame with long limbs and very projectable future strength. Borchering was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He is a switch-hitter with very advanced hitting tools from both sides of the plate. Borchering hits from a spread stance and balanced base. He has very good bat speed and a smooth swing. He has more bat speed and lift from the left side and shows serious power potential. Borchering uses his hands well to hit and has the ability to explode through the ball. He has all the tools and developing skills to be a top level national hitting prospect as he gets stronger. As a third baseman, Borchering showed good hands in drills and in games, along with solid arm strength that should continue to improve. At his height and age he did struggle at times with his body control and balance. He's a 7.50 runner in the 60. Borchering also took a turn on the mound and showed a smooth delivery and arm action with an effortless 82 mph fastball. He'd be a good pitching prospect at his age but his future is clearly in the batter's box. Follow Closely. Borchering is also a good student.
