Spencer Dickinson is a 2008 OF/SS with a 5'9'', 165 lb. frame from Tequesta, FL who attends The Benjamin School. He has a strong compact build and more resembles a mature second baseman than an outfielder. But Dickinson is an excellent defensive outfielder with the speed and arm strength to play any OF position. He has a powerful arm and makes very online, accurate throws. It would still be interesting to see him in the infield. Offensively, Dickinson has an aggressive approach at the plate and attacks pitches with very good bat speed. He makes his best contact when he's staying inside the ball and driving it to the middle of the field. He has the hand strength to wait on pitches and take them hard up the RCF alley. Dickinson will get in trouble when he takes too much of a big man's approach and puts the upper cut/pull swing on the ball trying to lift it. Dickinson has solid tools across the board, knows how to play and plays hard. He should continue to be successful. He has a verbal commitment to Florida State.

Spencer Dickinson is a 2008 OF/SS with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Tequesta FL, who attends The Benjamin School. He has a lean and athletic build with good present strength. Dickinson has an infielder's build but has very good outfield tools. He's a 6.92 runner with excellent outfield arm strength at 91 mph. Dickinson's throws were on line and accurate, too. Offensively, Dickinson has strong hands and generates solid bat speed. He has a comfortable, balanced approach in the box, with good hand load and nice explosion to the ball. He has a line drive swing plane with some late lift at the end and does a good job staying inside the ball and hitting it hard to all fields. There really isn't anything you would want to do to change Dickinson's hitting approach or mechanics at this point. It would be interesting to see him play the infield and see how his tools translate there because his bat would stand out even more than it does in the outfield. Dickinson was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team.

Spencer Dickinson is a 2008 OF/MIF from Benjamin School in Tequesta, FL, with a 5'8'', 145 lb. frame. He showed us right away that he is an advanced defensive outfielder for his age. Dickinson has a very strong arm with a quick release and good on-line accuracy. He showed outstanding instincts breaking on fly balls and while his 60 speed (7.40) isn't especially fast, he can chase down balls in the outfield by taking direct routes. As his speed improves, Dickinson should become an accomplised center fielder. Offensively, Dickinson shows some hand quickness and strength at the plate. He hits from a wide stance with low hand set up and is short to the ball. He has an aggressive swing and attacks the ball trying to drive it. He showed some gap to gap power potential and the ball came off his bat well. Dickinson has some present bat speed and should continue to add more as he matures. He looks like a nice young player with good tools and an aggressive approach to the game.
