Michael Hinchy is a 2007 SS/3B/P with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Plainview NY, who attends Plainview JFK. Hinchy has a taller body with a lanky build. Defensively, he moves to the ball well and has good hands. Hinchy can make the picks at the middle infield position. His arm strength is developing and he had carry on some throws. At the plate Hinchy swings from a straight stance and uses a rhythm approach to start his swing. He has a nice short bat path to the baseball and he has a quick swing. Hinchy pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and uses a shorter arm action. He uses a high leg kick and gets a full hip and shoulder turn at balance point. Hinchy pitches on a good downward plane and should keep the ball down in the zone consistently. He hides the ball very well and pitches with average effort through his delivery. Hinchy is also a very good student.
