Trevor Reckling is a 2007 LHP with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame from Newark, NJ who attends St. Benedicts Prep. He has a mature build with some width and strength to his shoulders and hips. Reckling has a C.C. Sabathia arm action and fast paced delivery and high 3/4's release point. His best pitch was a 77 mph slider that was very sharp at times with a deep 2-plane break. Reckling pretty much overmatched hitters every time he threw the slider. His fastball was 85-87 mph, plenty quick enough to keep hitter's honest, and he mixed in a couple of big breaking 72 mph curveballs that were quality pitches as well. Reckling has a good feel for pitching and the slider is an equalizer to both right handed and left handed hitter. Very bright future!

Trevor Reckling is a 2007 LHP with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame from Newark NJ, who attends St. Benedicts. Trever has a nice pitcher's build with good upside on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a live delivery. Trevor will challenge hitters with a heavy fastball that has nice run. He has very good action on his change-up and seems to rely on having lots of life on his pitches. Trevor is a player that will be a highest-level college prospect and might attract some pro attention in the spring.

Trevor Reckling is a 2007 left hand pither/left hand hitting outfielder from St. Benedict's HS, residing in Newark, NJ. Reckling has a strong and athletic build on a 6'1" 195 lb. frame that will continue to get stronger. He is not a pure stuff type pitcher and didn't start out really well, but as he got comfortable, he really showed that he can pitch and was ranked #83 among PG National Top 85 pitchers. Reckling pitches from an over the top slot with a two part arm action, including a stab on the backside. His delivery can be rhythmic when he is going well and comfortable. When he settled in, Reckling mixed his pitches very well and did a great job of staying within himself, which could not have been easy with all the hard throwers in the showcase. Reckling had a fastball up to 86 and pitched in the 83-85 range, with good sink. His 72-73 mph curveball is a good pitch for him and he showed that he can pitch with it and that he understands how to upset a hitter's timing. Reckling's curveball was a 12/6ish breaker with big shape. He threw it pretty hard with good spin but also showed the savvy to subtract velocity down into the mid-60s on occasion. There were also times he changed the shape of the curveball, into more of a slider type pitch. His pitchability was very good. Reckling is a primary pitcher but at the plate he made good barrel contact and showed that he hits with good balance, has good bat speed and a some pop. He is a D1 talent on the mound, though he may be overlooked due to not having a big fastball. However, Reckling is the type of lefty that old time scouts say to put down the gun when he is on the mound... because it is about how he can pitch.

Reckling pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action. He has a fast arm and throws with high effort. Reckling uses a tall and fall type delivery with a good finish. Reckling stays online through his delivery all the way to finish. He uses a high leg kick and stays balanced throughout. Reckling uses a fast paced delivery and works quick. He really goes after hitters and is aggressive in the strike zone. He gets armside run on his fastball and throws a change-up with sink. He also throws a curveball and a slider, both with good spin. Reckling has good command and was around the plate with all his pitches. Reckling is also a good student.
