Juhl is a physically strong switch hitting catcher with a very polished skill level. He’s an excellent defensive catcher with well above average big league arm strength and the ability to stay compact and accurate when throwing in games. Although he didn’t hit especially well in games in Fort Myers, Juhl’s bat has improved significantly over the last 6 months and he’s added some serious wood bat power. Juhl hit the ball well from both sides of the plate in batting practice. He’s a bit more compact and quicker from the right side but shows more natural loft in his swing from the left side. Juhl is an excellent student who has signed to go to Stanford. He has the tools, makeup and playability to end up in the Big Leagues some day. Scouts are going to like him, but the Stanford signing could raise some draft concerns.

Juhl is another of the nations top high school catchers. He's a solid 185 lbs and moves very well behind the plate. He has an average MLB catchers arm and looks advanced as a receiver. Another important ingredient is that Juhl is a very good switch hitter who projects to hit with some power with wood. Right now he's more a line drive type hitter and a real good one. He has a nice smooth swing from both sides that produces bat speed . It's a pretty swing, with a nice long finish/extension. Hard telling how early he might go in the draft, but he's definitely a highest level college prospect. Most catchers are better off going to college, in our estimation. Brian is very good and he's also a very good student.

Juhl is another of the big, strong catchers in Ft Myers. He showed enough arm strength to pop under 2.0 to 2B. At the plate, he made consistent contact and we saw him sit back on off-speed pitches and drive them. He also has some power potential showing a good overall swing.
