Nicholas Fogarty is a 2008 LHP with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Thornhill, ON who attends Thornlea SS. He has a mature build with solid strength and has done a good job firming up his body over the last few years. Fogarty is a mature pitcher who has pitched successfully at the highest levels of Canadian baseball for the last few years. He has a long, loose arm action in back and good arm speed and extension coming through. He repeats his delivery very well and knows exactly what he's doing on the mound. Fogarty's fastball has plus late action on it in the mid 80's and he spots it all over the zone with purpose. His breaking ball is big and nasty in the upper 60's and is a swing and miss pitch, although he does tend to tip his breaking ball a bit with a high wrap in back. We've seen him with a very good change up in the past as well. Fogarty isn't afraid to pitch to contact and get quick outs.

Nicholas Fogarty is a 2008 LHP with a 6'1'', 215 lb. frame from Thornhill ON, who attends Thornlea SS. He has a thick build and looks mature for his age. Fogarty pitches from a full windup and does a good job staying balanced and online to the plate. His fastball was 80-82 mph and he did a nice job spotting the ball away from the middle of the plate. Fogarty's best pitch was a 67 mph curveball athat has good bite and a very deep 2-plane break. Hitters have a tough time with both the speed and angle. His change up was also a quality pitch at 74 mph. Fogarty knows how to mix his pitches and get hitters out. The big thing for him in the future will be getting his body stronger and adding some velocity to his pitches. The rest of the ingredients are there.

Nicholas Fogarty is a 6-1, 215 lb sophomore left handed pitcher from Canada who is only 14 years old. He's a big, barrel chested young man with a much more slender lower half who will probably always have to watch his size and conditioning. We're told he comes from a large (physically) family. Fogerty is a very polished pitcher for his age and we observed him pitching against local junior college players 4-6 years older than he is and he threw very effectively. Fogerty's fastball is steady in the 82-83 mph range and we're told he touched 85 with some regularity this summer. His curveball has good velocity at 71 mph and a very big, hard downer break. Fogerty's 75 mph change up is a bit hard but has good life and deception. Best of all, Fogerty pitches to spots with intent and can move the ball around and create bad swings. His arm works very smoothly and his pitching mechanics are solid, which means he should have no problem adding velocity as he matures. Fogerty is a very good left handed follow for a 2008 prospect and a player whose name we expect to hear regularly for a couple of years.
