Frankie Ratcliff is a 2009 MIF with a 5'5'', 140 lb. frame from Key West FL, who attends Key West. Named to Top Prospect Team. Ratcliff has a compact body with a young looking build. He has lean tone with developing strength. Defensively, Ratcliff has quick actions and is light on his feet to the baseball. He throws with a short arm action and has arm strength across the infield. Ratcliff is a switch hitter who can swing it well from both sides of the plate. From the left side, Ratcliff uses a rotational approach and generates good bat speed. He swings through ball well and makes consistent solid contact. From the right side, Ratcliff swings on a line drive path and generates bat speed. He makes consistent middle of field contact and has present line drive pop. Ratcliff has the same approach from both sides of the plate with legit switch hitting skills. Ratcliff is an excellent student.

Frankie Ratcliff is a 2009 MIF with a 5'5'', 140 lb. frame from Key West FL, who attends Key West HS. He has a small, young body that's starting to show some signs of strength. Ratcliff is a switch hitter who shows some bat and hand quickness at the plate. He has good coiling action and use of his lower half from the left side of the plate. From the right side he's a bit shorter to the ball but more contact oriented. Ratcliff made solid contact from both sides of the plate and did a good job of staying inside the ball and hitting it where it was pitched. He should keep improving offensively as he gets stronger. Defensively, Ratcliff is light on his feet and has good first step quickness. He has good fundamentals getting in front of balls and with his exchanges. His release is quick like a second baseman. Ratcliff's hands could use some softening as he's fielding the ball. Ratcliff plays hard and loves to be on the field. He is also a very good student.

Frankie Ratcliff is a 2009 SS/2B from Key West HS in Key West, FL, with a 5'3'', 135 lb. frame. He's very young but has some muscle for his height. Ratcliff didn't run the 60 but showed good quickness and light feet in other areas of the game. He showed very good body control in the infield and quick, smooth actions. His arm strength is still developing but the rest of his defensive skills look strong. Rafcliff is a switch hitter who showed a quicker, shorter swing from the right side. He made solid line drive contact and showed he could get the bat head out into the hitting zone. Ratcliff hit with more of a bat wrap behind his head from the left side and was longer to the ball with more of a rotational upper body swing. He still showed bat head skills but was late to the ball. Ratcliff is a good looking young freshman athlete and has plenty of time to grow and get stronger. His baseball skills are pretty advanced and should improve as well. He is also a good student.

Frankie Ratcliff is a 5'3" 135 pound 2009 middle infielder from Key West, Florida who attends Key West High School. He has a lean young build with plenty of room to grow. Frankie is a switch hitter who makes solid contact with a level swing plane. He is a good hitter who sprays line drives to all fields with a contact approach. He seems to be a little better from the left side of the plate. He can definitely hit for a kid his age. Ratcliff has active feet and smooth actions in the field. He has very sure hands and decent arm action for his age. Frankie is a young player with good developing skills and he will be a top level prospect as he matures who will be a good follow for 2009.
