Kevin Dodson is a 2006 3B/P/OF from North Atlanta High School in Atlanta, GA, with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic player with a high waist. He has solid speed and ran a 7.22 sixty on a slow and wet track. Defensively he has solid arm strength (77 mph) across the diamond with accuracy. Dodson shows good body control on slow rollers. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with an upright stance. Dodson has good bat speed and is an aggressive hitter who makes solid contact at times. He gets off balance in his swing, but maintains a level swing plane. On the mound he has a live arm from a straight over the top arm slot. He has a deceptive delivery and gets his shoulders throwing uphill. Dodson hides the ball well from the hitter and keeps them off balance. He gets cutting action on his fastball that topped out at 75 mph and showed good control. He is also a good student.
