David Ahern is a 2006 SS/P/2B from Bedford HS in Bedford, Massachusetts, with a lean and athletic 6'0"/170 pound frame. Ahern has athletic actions in the infield with good range and is solid defensively. As a right handed hitter, he hits from an open stance with a small stride. He has a balanced approach at the plate with a line drive swing plane and makes solid contact. As a right handed pitcher, David throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and good arm speed. He uses minimal effort in his balanced and online delivery and showed very good command, His fastball was 81 mph and he throws an 11-5 breaking curveball with depth and sharpness. Ahern is an excellent student.
