Sean Bouthilette is a 2008 P/3B from Elizabethtown HS in Elizabethtown, KY, with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame. He has narrow shoulders and is just beginning to develop his strength. Bouthilette has solid pitching mechanics with good balance over the rubber and good direction to the plate. His arm action is short, quick and clean. Command should not be an issue in the future with his delivery and Bouthilette does a nice job now pitching to the corners. Bouthilette threw both 2-seam and 4-seam fastballs and was up to 87 mph in velocity. His fastball has good late life to it. Bouthilette's curveball has very good velocity at 75 mph. He varies the break between a sweeper and more of a downer 11/5 curveball and shows very good feel for this pitch for a young pitcher. Another very advanced pitch for the 16 year old Bouthilette is his 76 mph change up, which has nice fade and he keeps good arm speed on it. Bouthilette has an idea of how to pitch and use his stuff and with his frame and age, his stuff should just continue to improve. He's a very nice young pitching prospect and should be followed closely.
