Brett Eckler is a 2006 RHP with a 6'1" 195 pound frame from Naples, Florida who attends Barron Collier High School. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot that gives him tremendous movement on his pitches. Brett has simples mechanics that he repeats very well. He has a loose arm and throws strikes consistently while working both sides of the plate with all of his pitches. Eckler threw his fastball from 81-83 mph with plus movement. His slider was very tight at 74 mph and he showed good control of it. He also threw a change up at 73 mph that will improve as he throws it more. Brett continues to improve and should be able to slide into a program and help them out now. This kid can pitch. Brett is also an outstanding student with a 4.67 gpa, an 1140 on his SAT, and a 28 on his ACT.

Brett Eckler is a 2006 right handed pitcher/outfielder from Naples, Florida, with a 6'1", 160 lb. frame. Eckler throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action. He has good balance in his delivery and stays over his buckle well with some deception. His fastball has good life with sinking action, and topped out at 80 mph. Eckler pitched two innings at the event facing the minimum number of hitters, and didn't allow a hit while striking out 3. He also threw a slider at 74, and what looked like a change up at 70 mph. He had control of all of his pitches, and shows pitchability. He has a projectable body, and it would be easy to see him throwing harder in the future. Eckler is also a right handed hitter with good bat speed and good hand quickness. He has a short bat path with some strength in his swing. Eckler is athletic and showed good speed running the 60 in 7.05 seconds. He is a solid follow as a two way prospect, and is a good student.
