Hunter Destival is a 2017 C/ with a 5-11 201 lb. frame from Denver, IA who attends Waverly-Shell Rock. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build with present strength. Projects for additional size with strength with continued physical development. Primary catcher, shows a high set while setting up to receive. Gains some ground while working to the bag with fundamental footwork. Clean, deliberate glove to hand exchanges while working through transfer. Creates an extended arm circle back at separation and releases from a compact three-quarters slot. Generated good carry with accuracy to the bag topping at 74 mph, best workout pop time of 1.98. Right handed hitter with an upright, straight stance and leg kick trigger. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions creating occasional shift. Tense hand path to contact creating a naturally leveraged plane through extension. Present strength with some jump off the barrel when squared. Good student as well.
