Luke Ira is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends Solon. Leaner frame with an athletic build. Primary shortstop. Ran a 6.77 60-yard dash. Funnels the ball out front with both hands. Shorter arm action in back releasing from a three-quarters arm slot. Shows good range to both sides with a clean backhand. Throws have softer carry across the field. Righthanded hitter with an upright and open stance. Starts with a high back elbow and uses a simple leg lift trigger for timing. Lower half has linear actions while shifting to contact well. Looser path to the ball with a slightly lifted barrel plane. Has good fluidity to swing when on time. Good balance throughout swing. Middle of the field to pull side approach but flashed the ability to go the other way. Repeats swing mechanics well. Excellent student. South Dakota State University commit.
