Jackson Downing is a 2023 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Liberty North. Recorded a 7.71 second 60 yard dash time. Long and lean frame that projects well with added strength. Primary shortstop, throws from a lower slot with max effort. Put together a solid round overall, shows good hands and a clean glove. Secondary right-handed pitcher with real whip to the arm, max effort thrower with head whack and violent actions all around. Has feel for the spin of his slider, has some inconsistencies in the shape and command of it. Arm talent present, will improve as he simplifies the operation and repeats it better. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base and low hand set. Shows a quiet approach with good balance and extension. Quick hands and solid bat speed, produced hard line drive contact to all fields. Simple and repeatable operation, can create lift to his pull side and get on plane easily with all locations. Consistent hard contact and great round overall, a lot to like about the projection of the bat. Excellent student. Named to the 2021 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
