Brandt Walker is a 2006 RHP/OF from St. Stephen's HS in Austin, TX, with a 6'2", 175 lb. frame. He has a strong lower half with a lean, projectable upper half. Walker's arm action is clean and easy with minimal effort from a standard 3/4's release point. His mechanics are very fluid and everything comes together very easily for him on the mound. Walker's fastball was 90-91 mph with good armside run and projects to get faster as he fills out and takes advantage of his clean delivery and arm action. His curveball was 72 mph with good rotation and 2-plane break. Walker's low 80's change up was a strong pitch for him and should develop more as he continues to throw it more frequently. Walker also showed us nice athleticism and ability with the bat and is a pitcher who can also contribute at the next level on offense if given the chance. Walker is an excellent student and has committed to Stanford for college.

Walker is an "06" OF/RHP from Austin, TX. At 6'2/165 he is a tall, lanky kid with a perfect projectable baseball body. As an outfielder he shows excellent overall defensive skills and a lot of desire to play the game hustling on and off the field. Runs very well for a young guy, in fact, he should end up being a MLB "plus" runner down the road. He ranges well to balls and makes good reads. He shows MLB arm strength at 85-88 with very good carry and accuracy. At the plate he hits from a solid base with a nice inside-out approach to contact and some big power potential in his bat. He is an aggressive, confident hitter. From the mound he needs some mechanical help, but shows good potential. He throws with a loose, long arm from a 3/4 slot that has quickness. He doesn't finish well, lacks extention. He works ahead in the count and locates well. He threw all fastballs from 79-82mph with some arm side run. Has a chance as a pitcher and he's a sure shot prospect as an outfielder. And he's only a sophomore. Brandt is a very good student.
