Hunter Hoopes is a 2018 OF/SS, RHP with a 5-11 142 lb. frame from Fairfax, VA who attends Woodson HS. Young frame, slender build, room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle and matures. Posted a 7.53 60-yard dash. From the outfield, moves to and through the baseball well, athletic actions, full and loose arm action, solid arm strength with extension on throws. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base and a high hand set. Has a high leg lift trigger and his arms extend back toward the catcher on load. Swings on a line drive swing plane, middle of the field approach. Does a nice job of consistently getting the barrel to the baseball. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed. Gets lower half drive toward the plate, high energy delivery, has deceptiveness in delivery. 11/5 curveball shape, has good depth. Has projectability as he continues to develop. Excellent student.
