Jack Berning is a 2015 1B/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Centennial, CO who attends Arapahoe HS. Berning has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he throws with a short arm action with developing arm strength. He has solid footwork around the bag at 1B and has solid hands. From the outfield, he has better velocity and throws with a slinging arm action. At the plate, Berning starts with a very wide base and uses a very early weight shift at load. Berning has some hand quickness to his swing, but he uses a late leg raise to start his swing limits current bat speed and strength in swing. He swings on a flat path to the baseball and made contact to the middle/opposite field. Good running first baseman at 7.11. Very good student.
