Jonathan Ashley is a 6-0/160 lb junior second baseman from Brooks, Ga with 7.23 sixty speed and 4.79 home to first time. Ashley does have some strength. He's a right handed hitter with pretty good power that should get better. He is late with his stride foot on many pitches and needs to back off the plate to get better extention. Ashley has the raw tools for hitting, but needs to be shown how to put it together. In the infield he showed 71mph arm strength. He does a good job on balls to his left side and has pretty good glove action when he gets his feet set. Ashley also pitched a bit and threw 73 mph with a 62 mph curveball. He did a good job throwing strikes and getting some sink on his fastball. His curveball has some spin to it and he worked quickly and attacked hitters. Ashley is an excellent student.
