Joseph Hernandez is a 2014 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Lynbrook, NY who attends Valley Stream South HS. Tall, athletic build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.80 60 yard dash. Left-handed thrower, works from a high three-quarter arm slot and pitches mostly in the low 70s early in outing. Mixes a slider with short, late break. Shows 11-5 rotation. Also sprinkles in a changeup. Hides the ball well and locates his pitches. Bats from both sides of the plate, uses and inside out approach and knows how to use the whole field. Shows solid footwork around first base. Profiles on the mound. Good student.
