Malcolm Clapsaddle is a 2009 RHP/3B with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Geneva , FL who attends Oviedo. Clapsaddle uses a Hi 3/4 arm angle and his fastball topped at 90 mph at the Metyrodome. He throws downhill and his arm is fast and loose. His breaking ball has big potential and he also throws a good change up. He shows pitchability on the mound and has very good command od all three pitches. He projects large on the mound and also shows ability with the bat. He has verballed to the U of Georgia.

Solid mechanics, good downhill drive to plate, smooth arm action. FB to 88 mph, runs occ, tends to pitch up with FB, SL has sharp action at times. Good athlete, can run/swing the bat well. Projects, will be a 90+ guy when mature. Good student. He was named to the top prospect team at this event.

Malcolm Clapsaddle is a 2009 RHP/3B with a 6'1'', 165 lb. frame from Geneva FL , who attends Lake Highland Prep. He has a tall, thin flexible build with good strength projection. Clapsaddle was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He is a very polished and mature pitcher for his age with good present stuff and advanced pitchability. Clapsaddle has a long, easy arm stroke and good downhill leverage to the plate. He repeats his delivery very well. Clapsaddle's fastball was 84-86 mph, touch 88, with very good sinking life at times and he showed the ability to paint the corners both inside and outside. Clapsaddle's curveball is a big, deep 11/5 breaker at 73 mph that he throws with command and purpose. He didn't show a change up but with his delivery and feel developing a quality change shouldn't be a problem. Clapsaddle is one of the quality pitching prospects in the 2009 class and will be fun to watch develop over the next few years. He is also a good student.

Malcolm Clapsaddle is a 6' 150 pound 2009 right handed pitcher and third baseman from Oviedo High School in Geneva, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a lean body that is very projectable. Malcolm showed good arm strength by throwing 79 mph across the infield during the workout. He has a wide base and smooth actions in the field. On the mound, he pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy arm action that works very wel. He throws downhill with a drop and drive delivery and showed good command of his pitches. His fastball was at 83 mph and he kept it down in the zone at all times. He threw his curveball at 72 mph with tight 12/6 rotation and good depth. His change up had good sink at 71 mph and he kept that down in the zone as well. Clapsaddle has good balance in his swing. He has a nice swing plane and good bat speed with the potential to add power. He has strong hands and he drives the ball to all fields. Malcolm is a projectable yound prospect who is also a very good student with a 3.5 gpa.
