Calvin Foster is a 2008 OF/IF/P with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Antioch, California, who attends Deer Valley High School. Foster has a lean and projectable frame. Defensively he has good arm strength from the outfield throwing 84 mph. The ball comes out of his hand well looking smooth and easy, and his throws are accurate. He has fluid movements in the outfield. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a very open stance with a toe tap trigger. He is an opposite field hitter who keeps his hands inside the ball. Foster shows bat speed at times. Once on the bases, he has instincts and the ability to take the extra base. Foster is a good student as well.

He has the ability to make consistent solid contact and he likes to drive the ball up the middle. He hits hard line drives to all fields with a line drive plane to his swing. He has a solid bat with good potential. Calvin is a good follow with big upside who is a excellent student with a 3.67 gpa.
