2003 Spring Showcase
Cooley is a small right-hander that also plays infield. He was a member of the Perfect Game Wood Bat League this spring and made some improvements. We realized just how much better he has gotten after watching his performance in the Midwest showcase. On the hill he showed command with 3 pitches that included a 78-81 mph fastball, a 66-67 mph curve with a nice bite and a 71-73 mph change-up. He hit spots well with all 3 pitches. His arm works good and from a 3/4 slot he showed a compact arm action and balanced delivery. In the 60 he ran a 6.97 and from the SS position he threw well at 80 mph. His swing looked good and he should continue to get better in a competitive High School program.
