Eddy Villalta is a 2008 C/1B with a 5'10'', 186 lb. frame from Coral Gables, Florida, who attends Coral Gables HS. Eddy has a well-developed build and had a good pop time of 1.93 during the workout. At the plate Eddy shows nice bat speed and has an aggressive approach with good extension in his swing. He looks to be trying to swings too hard at times, as he already has nice power potential. Behind the plate Eddy has a quick release with an accurate arm. He looked like he was trying to hard during the workout, but seemed to calm down during the games and looked better. Eddy is a solid student that will attract the attention of some mid-level college programs.

Eddy Villalta is a 2008 C/1B with a 5'10'', 186 lb. frame from Coral Gables FL, who attends Coral Gables. Villalta has a stocky build with a strong body. He has a good catchers build and has a mature look to him. Defensively, Villalta has arm strength with good carry on his throws down to second. He has good footwork with a quick release which really helps him have a quick pop time (1.82). At the plate, Villalta starts with an open stance and flexed knees. He has a high back elbow in his stance and uses a short stride to start his swing. He has slight lift in his swing and generates some bat speed. He is somewhat inconsistent with his swing and tends to get under balls occasionally. Villalta is a high energy player and hustles all over the field. He plays the game hard and is a fun player to watch. Villalta is a very good student.

Eddy Villalta is a 2008 C/1B from Coral Gables HS in Coral Gables, FL, with a 5'8", 170 lb. frame. Eddy has a strong build, and did very well behind the plate in the workout session. At the plate he shows a very open stance and attacks the baseball. He shows good bat speed and can really pull the ball hard. Behind the plate Eddy shows solid catch and throw skills with a quick release. He has a live arm, and should only improve on his current ability. After a rain delay Eddy volunteered to catch 8 bullpens and did not complain one bit. Eddy is a strong student and a high-level college prospect.
