Zak Edgington is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Belmont CA, who attends Serra HS. He has a lean, lithe type build on a medium frame, though with good shoulders. Edgington is a quality college pitching prospect. He has a clean arm action that works easily from a high 3/4 slot. All his pitches have above average to good movement and he showed the ability and willingness to use any pitch in any count. He located his fastball (79-82 mph) on both sides of the plate, moving it in and out well. His curveball is a really good pitch. He is able to start bats with it but consistently misses the barrel. His change-up is good too. Edgington is simply a good pitcher, with feel, command, and movement. At the plate he is an aggressive hitter with a quick bat. He has a quiet, line drive stroke and gets through contact well. His BP was quite good. He is a solid student and should have a successful college pitching career.
