Oscar Martinez is a 2016 OF/1B/LHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Collins HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, spread stance with a rock back load, deep hands to start swing, long loose extended swing, swings hard and creates some bat speed, will overswing at times and pull off his front side, hits to all fields. 7.29 runner, moves well to the ball, limited lower half use throwing, soft accurate throws. Also pitched, full hands over head delivery with a high leg raise, stays balanced well, 3/4's arm slot, repeats his release point. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, works fastball down in the zone with good arm side running action. Big sweeping curveball with good spin at times, got on top of best curveballs for some 1/7 depth. Good student.
