Alex Tovalin is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Otay Ranch. Large frame, lean build. Hits from a crouched stance, long rotational swing, strong at contact and ball carries well when quared. Primary outfielder who impressed on the mound, running his fastball up to 84 from a low three quarters arm slot. Showed good late bite on slider and commanded it well, good balance in early part of delivery, can drift a bit towards third base but typically maintains balance well and throws downhill with good control. Good use of lower half to generate momentum. Good arm speed on changeup, good life to the arm side on fastball.
