Michael Galvin is a 2006 catcher from Rogers HS in Newport, Rhode Island, with a big and strong 6'1"/205 pound frame. A right handed hitter, Michael hits from a wide base with a slightly open stance. He has a no stride approach at the plate with good raw power. Galvin has strength and slight lift in his swing. He has short arm action from behind the plate with a 2.20 pop time. He showed good footwork blocking and is a solid receiver. Galvin is a physically strong player and a hard worker. He is also a very good student.
