James "Jae" Skoda is a 2013 OF/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Grand Bay, AL who attends. Very strong, large frame, outstanding athlete with tools to spare. Ran a 6.74 60 yard. Pitches from a high arm slot, uses his strong lower half very well, overthrows at times, needs to finish pitches consistently. Very live arm, fastball reached 91 mph, pitches at 87-91 with excellent life through the zone, velocity was inconsistent from the stretch. Curveball at 76 mph shows big potential, 12-6 rotation, sharp, late action, commanded it well, chance to be a swing and miss pitch. Also mixed a changeup at 80 mph, flashes good fading action. Chance to be a three pitch arm, and should add more velocity. Excellent upside on the mound. Also hits, shows most upside on the mound. Good arm strength from the outfield, moves around well, good speed and range. Right-handed hitter, shows big power potential, good bat speed. Has some raw swing mechanics, hits from a strong base, drives the ball to the middle of the field, more power on the way. Two-way talent.
PG Grade 9.5
